Patient access faq

At this time, members of the below plan types have the opportunity to access their health information using an application:
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Individual & Family Marketplace plans
No. While there are many possible benefits to accessing your health information through an application, you should consider the choice carefully. Only use an application that you are comfortable with.
At this time, we are only supporting the listed plan types. Use the member portal or contact Customer Care with questions about your plan.  
In general, WellFirst Health does not permit minors to disclose their health information without a parent’s consent.  Minors are not able to authorize the release of their information to an application.
If the application you have chosen is registered with WellFirst Health, you will select WellFirst Health from the application. Then you will be presented with an authentication screen to enter your portal credentials.  

If you do not have a portal account, there will be a link to WellFirst Health’s website, where you can create a portal account.
Yes. Using your portal account credentials help us protect the privacy of your health information by making sure that you are the only person able to access and share your data.
No. You may use your member portal credentials to authorize as many applications as you wish.
Contact the application developer using the support tool that they have provided on the application. The application developer will try to resolve the issue. If they are unable to, they will contact 1upHealth to troubleshoot together until the issue is resolved.

Your application developer will provide progress of the issue until it is resolved.
Recent updates to your claims or clinical data may not appear right away. Check again in one week. If you still cannot find the data, contact the application developer via the support mechanism they have provided.

WellFirst Health does not recommend any specific application. You should carefully review an application’s privacy policy to make sure you are comfortable sharing your health information with that app.

While we plan to offer this in the future, we are not currently able to offer access for personal representatives via applications.
